Experience

Phatthrawat Nakaranuruck is an outstanding legal practitioner in the areas of IT, telecommunications and intellectual property laws. Equipped with 15 years of counsel and advocacy experience, he expertly advises multinational, international and domestic corporate clients in both the private and public sectors on legal matters involving intellectual property, particularly trademarks, copyrights, patents, unfair competition, information technology and media, including licensing and distributorship agreements, technology transfer transactions and global trademark policy issues. He was moreover formerly appointed to the Drafting Committee on Trademarks and Geographical Indication Laws, the Drafting Committee on Layout-Design of Integrated Circuits, the Working Group on the Preparation for Implementation of the new Patent and Trademarks Act, and the Working Group on the WTO’s New Round of Trade Negotiations, in addition to representing the Royal Thai Government in various international negotiations and conferences at myriad venues such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). Furthermore, Phattrawat Nakaranuruck has also served as a member of the Working Group on the Study of Laws for the Promotion of the Basic Legal Framework Committee, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology.

Career and Education

Phatthrawat Nakaranuruck is a founding partner of the Chavalit Law Group. He was previously a senior associate and member of the intellectual property and information technology practice group at International Legal Counsellors Thailand Ltd. (ILCT) (Russin & Vecchi). Prior to that, he was Senior Legal Officer with the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), Ministry of Commerce in the Legal Affairs and Appeals Division, where he began his legal career after completing his Master of Laws at Duke University in the US as a Royal Thai Government scholar.
